Isabelle Julien has adopted Maine and made it her new home. She grew up in Montpellier in southern France and also lived for many years on the island of St. Barts (Saint Barthélemy) in the Caribbean. She has operated small businesses and was also trained as an interior designer.  She meticulously transformed the cafe into a Parisian style cafe and the results are stunning. Isabelle is very social and enjoys establishing friendships with her customers and staff. What makes someone leave the warmth and comfort of Southern France and the Caribbean to come to Maine? “This is one of the most beautiful places in the world and the people are very friendly,” says Isabelle without hesitation. “I love it here.”

Isabelle also speaks very highly of her staff, most of whom she retained from the previous business.  Their hard work and loyalty to the business speak volumes, both for Isabelle’s management style and for the popularity of the café.
